Introduction

Université de Paris is one of the most prestigious European universities for medical and social sciences and one of the main French research universities.

The Faculty of Medicine offers students a full range of clinical training opportunities in more than 190 hospital departments, covering all specialities. Manchester students will have a chance to attend more than 2 different clinical rotations during their 16 week placement in Paris 5.

The Faculty is already very well internationally networked with exchange programs also with the US (Dallas) and partners in French speaking Africa, in addition to various European partners, also in Eastern Europe, and a summer school exchange with the Charité in Berlin.

The Faculty has to date established partnerships with 22 universities in the EEA as part of Erasmus programme and is very keen to increase English partners in the UK.

Location

The university if located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris (one of the 20 arrondissements or administrative districts). It includes world famous educational institutions such as the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Académie française, the seat of the French Senate as well as a concentration of some of Paris's most famous monuments such as Saint-Germain Abbey and square, St. Sulpice Church and square, the Pont des Arts and the Jardins du Luxembourg.
