5 Reasons to Consider Leibniz Universitat Hannover

  • Hannover is the heart of a region of about 1.2 million people, and is surrounded by numerous lakes, forests and hills, such as the Harz Mountains 80km to the south, and the “Luneburger Heide” to the north.
  • Its historical links to the British monarchy as the royal House of Hanover, give it a rich history which can be explored through its Botanical Gardens such as the Herrenhausen Gardens, and the  Lower Saxony State Museum.
  • Hanover is home to the second biggest Oktoberfest in Germany!
  • The city has a 15th century Old Town which has one of the biggest and oldest Fleamarkets in Germany!
  • Due to Hanover’s royal past, it has been considered as a city where ‘High German’ is spoken. This makes it the perfect place to develop your German language skills!
