Introduction

The Charité is one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. More than half of the German Nobel Prize winners in medicine and physiology come from the Charité, among them Emil von Behring, Robert Koch and Paul Ehrlich. The Charité also has an international reputation for excellence in training.

Location

Students can be placed in any of the four campus locations for each rotation: Campus Mitte, Campus Benjamin Franklin, Campus Berlin Buch and Campus Virchow-Klinikum. Previous Manchester students in Berlin have carried out placements in Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, General Practice, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Infectious Diseases and Surgical Emergency.
