3 Reasons to Consider Universidad de Cantabria

  • The University of Cantabria is considered highly in Spain, being given recognised as a ‘Campus of International Excellence’ by the Spanish Government (2009) and despite being a young university, its department of physics is ranked in the Top 200 in the world by the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (2013).

Location

University Campus

Most of the campus is set in the low-lying area of Las Llamas in Santander, an open space that separates the northern side of the city from the rural areas along the coast. This part of the city is at present being cleared and redesigned under the auspices of the City Council and the Government of Cantabria. Green spaces and sports areas are planned for this area. The rest of the campus is located in other parts of the city and in Torrelavega, an urban centre 20 kilometres away by motorway.

Santander

Santander has good city beaches, bustling shopping streets, a heaving bar and restaurant scene, and a few cultural attractions. The city is a popular summer holiday resort for Spaniards. On the eastern end of the bay you will find the the parklands of the Península de la Magdalena mark and north of the peninsula, the Playa del Sardinero, the main beach, faces the open sea.
